Parker Sonnet Fountain Pen,
This is a gorgeous pen. Features a lovely brushed metal finish on barrel and cap. Nice secure fit and click as the cap locks and opens. Beautiful looking pen – gloss black plastic and old-fashioned large nib reminiscent of classics like the Duofold.
I’ve tried the fine and medium nibs. The medium is much more suitable for my handwriting and is what I currently use. It’s a pleasure to write with and once primed, the ink flow is superb using cartridges or pipette. I never have to try to improve the ink flow by flicking the nib or dipping into ink – it just stays as it should.
I would advise on first purchase, take a cartridge, fit into the nib and literally squeeze the cartridge between finger and thumb. Parker cartridges are quite firm so you will have to squeeze quite hard. After a few squeezes, the ink will run down the feeder fins on the underside of the nib and into the groove on the nib itself. Squeeze a couple of drops of ink onto paper or tissue. Your pen is now primed. You may want to fit a fresh cartridge (or fill up your pipette) as the cartridge will be dented.
You will then be ready to go and just enjoy your new pen as it responds to your unique handwriting.
Very highly recommended.

|An excellent writing instrument,
This pen looks the business in the gold trim especially. It is a very classy looking instrument and it is a pleasure to use. It is perfectly weighted and has excellent balance, and is a very smooth writing pen. I use it with the luxury piston fill – an excellent combination.

|Disappointing product,
I was given this fountain pen as a present but it has proved a bit of a problem in that if not used for a couple of days the ink supply fails and takes a bit a job to get the pen to work properly once more. In the main, I find this embarrassing and as a result has given this pen up and resorted to my old one which has been working faultlessly for teo decades now.
